Я очень боюсь потерять адекватность восприятия и превратится в такую вот мамо.
Надеюсь, мне удастся этого избежать, если буду следить за собой и своими реакциями, не распускаясь.

Но обсудить мне хотелось бы следующее - зачастую звучит вопрос "ведь они сами были снохи, почему же ведут себя так??".

Хотела бы обратить ваше внимание на доводы, которые приводят обычно в этом сообществе когда пытаются защитить свекровь - "вы пришли в ее дом", "она родила вам вашего мужа", "вы никто-ничто-звать никак", "она вам ничего не должна, а вот вы..." И т.д.

Самое главное, в свое время, нам самим такими не стать...
Может быть будем вспоминать свои обсуждения в этом сообществе и тормозить себя...

В лаборатории новый постдок — Карла, из Флориды. Апельсинов она, как и следовало ожидать, не привезла. Ей постоянно звонят друзья и спрашивают — не мерзнет ли она в Чикаго. Вешая трубку она устало вздыхает: тебе небось таких дурацких вопросов не задавали, ты же из России, у вас там к холоду привыкшие. Да, говорю, конечно: рожают нас прямо на снегу, потом мы до весны дозреваем с бурыми медведями в берлоге, а летом отправляют на север — на воспитание белым медведям, те вскармливают нас водкой и треской и учат играть на балалайке.

Кроме Карлы в лабе появился Чен — студент-китаец, вылитый Брюс Ли.

Судя по тому, что у всех моих рубашек внезапно стали короткими рукава, мои руки продолжают расти.

Читаю посты, и не могу понять: почему они портят нам жизнь?! Такие же женщины как и Мы, такие же Снохи - не уверенна что они подходили по требованию своих свекровей, так что почему они цепляются к нам??? и так из поколения в поколение!!!

Мой случай надеюсь эксклюзивен, такого никому не пожелаю. Дважды довела меня до нервных срывов, своими попытками чтобы я делала все так как она хочет.

<lj-cut> в последнее время мне тяжело <lj-cut> быть наедине со своими мыслями, каждодневными воспоминаниями, огорчениями, отчаянием. Вспоминая в каждую минуту своего свободного времени, разговоры со свекровью, ее вечно недовольное лицо, острые подколы, ворчливость, мне хочется кричать, кричать от немочи, кричать от обид, от боли. Но кричать в пустоту, все равно что выкурить сигарету, опять свободные минуты...и все сначала. Поверите нет, но я часто уже вижу их во сне, ведь это моя территория, но они даже вторглись сюда. И как всегда, все одно - недовольствие, и самое страшное, через некоторое время они сбывались. Я пытаюсь не обращать на них внимания, отгородила себя, но они достают меня через мужа. Звонят ему жалуются, что я с ними не разговариваю, не общаюсь, наговаривают, постояно сеют раздоры в моей семье, я не могу больше терпеть, у меня больше нет сил. Но я должна ради своей дочери держатся до последнего, незнаю, надеюсь меня хватит.

За последний месяц я уже дважды перенесла неврные стрессы, руки, ноги сводят в судороге, я еле отхожу потом, пью валерианку, ну а что дальше? сколько может продолжаться? в последний раз дочь начала пугаться моих истерик, а ей всего 9 месяцев, а муж не может меня защитить, ему не хватает смелости :(

Notes augmented

We've enhanced and de-bugged Notes. If you haven't tried it yet, now's the time! You can create a private note when you ban multiple users. You can also delete multiple notes at once. Lastly, paid users have the option to add a note (visible only to you) whenever you add or remove a friend (guaranteed to avoid embarrassing social mishaps). If you don't currently have a paid account, you can upgrade now! It only takes a few minutes and costs less than a bad shopping mall haircut (plus, it's way more fashionable)!

Product tweaks and bug kill

1. In another effort to zap spam, comments containing links from domains LiveJournal deems untrustworthy are now automatically screened
2. If you sign up to get notifications of the Writer's Block question of the day, you'll now see the daily question in the email notification, so you'll have a little extra time to ponder before you post. You can subscribe to Writers Block notifications here
3. The issue causing random comments to vanish has been fixed!
4. If you visit a LiveJournal page and get prompted to log in, you'll be returned to the same page after you sign in (Thanks, Dreamwidth)!
5. If you don't edit the timestamp for an entry at all, the entry timestamp will indicate the time the entry was posted instead of the time the Update Journal page was loaded
6. Comments with paddings/backgrounds render correctly within the comment box (and will no longer wrap outside the box and break frames/margins)

New FCK fixes rich text editor!

1. We've updated our RTE (Rich Text Editor) to FCKeditor version 2.6.5
2. When switching from the RTE to HTML editor, links for syndicated feeds are no longer broken
3. RTE now functions properly in Safari 4.0
4. An extra line/space will not be auto-inserted whenever you switch from RTE to HTML editor
5. The insert image link now works correctly in all browsers

Прочла только что - прекрасный образчик поведения свекрови.  Это настолько типичный диалог!..

Ситуация: жених пропал на несколько недель. Девушка, чуя неладное, приходит к нему домой и предлагает пожениться скорее, не дожидаясь назначенного срока. Его мама это слышит и недовольно поджимает губы. Жених, закрыв за невестой дверь:

"— Так вот, мама, я не собираюсь выслушивать никаких возражений.

— Я никаких возражений и не высказывала, — заметила миссис Китинг.

— Мама, я хочу, чтобы ты поняла: я люблю Кэти и ничто меня теперь не остановит. Это окончательно.

— Очень хорошо, Питер.

— Не пойму, что тебе в ней не нравится.

— Для тебя больше не имеет значения, что мне нравится, а что не нравится.

— Да нет же, мама, конечно, имеет! Ты же знаешь. Как ты можешь такое говорить?

— Питер, у меня лично нет никаких симпатий или антипатий. О себе я вообще не думаю, потому что ничто в мире не имеет для меня значения, кроме тебя. Может быть, это старомодно, но так уж я устроена. Я знаю, что мне следовало бы вести себя по-другому, потому что дети в наши дни этого не ценят. Но я ничего с собой поделать не могу.

— Мама, но ты же знаешь, что я ценю тебя! Ты знаешь, что я ни за что не согласился бы причинить тебе страдания.

— Ты можешь причинить мне страдания, Питер, только причинив их себе. А это… это трудно вынести…

— Как же это я причиняю себе страдания?

— Что ж, если ты не откажешься выслушать меня…

EDIT@08:16 UTC/GMT. Wow. That was ugly. I expected it to go for 30 minutes and have maybe 1 minute of broken connectivity. Instead it lasted over 4 hours and we had 10 minutes of downtime directly related to the load balancer upgrades and then another 5-10 minutes of downtime when our primary Pingback database server crashed and the secondary couldn't take over; which could have been indirectly caused by the network upgrade missing a self-VIP.

Anyways, we're up, we're working, the load balancers are barely breaking a sweat right now and I need some food and a shot of whiskey. I don't even *like* whiskey!!

On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice.

Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials.

We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait!

As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work.

Senior Bush administration figures including Zalmay Khalilzad, former US ambassador to Baghdad, and Jay Garner, the retired general who led reconstruction efforts immediately after the war, are leading a new business push into Iraq.

The two one-time senior officials are among a raft of former US soldiers and diplomats either leveraging their war experience helping foreign companies to enter the Iraqi market or starting businesses there themselves.

Mr Khalilzad’s Khalilzad Associates this year set up offices in Baghdad and the northern Kurdish city of Erbil from which it is advising companies wanting to do business in Iraq. The company declined requests for interviews but a spokesperson confirmed the establishment of its offices and that Mr Khalilzad, also former US ambassador to the UN, had made several trips to the country this year.

Mr Garner, the de-facto US governor of Iraq after the war, sat on the board of Vast Exploration when it bought 37 per cent of a Kurdistan oil block two years ago and remains an adviser to the Canadian company. “Jay is very well known in Kurdistan and Iraq and it was useful to the company,” said a spokesman for Vast. OMG! Снято Питером Линдбергом. Upd. Кроме шуток, следом пришла новость, что начиная с февраля британский театральный режиссер Деклан Доннеллан снимает Николь Кидман в экранизации "Милого Друга" Ги де Мопассана (я так понимаю, что в роли Мадлен Форестье). Роберт Паттинсон co-stars. Всё, тут я затыкаюсь, потому что сейчас проснутся американцы и это будет all over the internet.

Девчонки, я под замок. Тема неприятная, сразу скажу. Мне противно, мужу противно. И конечно же, длинно и про деньги...

UPD. пока пост выходил в эфир, мы позвонили врачу. ситуация прояснилась и уточнилась. по порядку.
1. подзамок забыла поставить. ну, бывает так. спасибо, что напомнили, теперь уж не буду ничего менять.
2. диагноз - воспаление почек. пиелонефрит это называется, если не ошибаюсь. воспаление сняли, что-то прописали "на дом"
3. врач сказал, что ничего про деньги он нашей мамо не говорил вообще, рассчитывая поговорить с нами в день выписки, собственно (что нам денег не вернут - ее догадки, спросили, с чего она взяла - ответила "ой. показалось"). после окончательных подсчетов нам вернули больше половины суммы.
4. ситуацию с родственниками муж решил сам - принципиально потребовал половину затраченных денег с родни. и сказал матери, что и впредь если что, будет требовать с сестры половину, раз уж "та сторона" неумолчно твердит о своей любви и заботе по отношению к ней. а что сейчас у сестры вроде как затруднительное положение, так нас, например, никто не спрашивал, когда у нас только родился ребенок, отец загремел в больницу, а маменька висела у нас на шее полностью, желая делать ремонты и кататься на моря.
решение это меня вполне устраивает. что касается маменькиного поведения - впредь будем бдить лучше, дабы больше ей ничего не казалось.
